ABOUT moth x
PERSONAL LOGLINE:
As a screenwriter, I write stories about the courage it takes to be who you really are, despite what others say, so the inward man can navigate life in this human body with joy rather than death. I have learned that some people will always diminish your accomplishments, no matter what you do, so who cares what others think about you.
I’m a living soul who worked as a fashion designer, musician, and songwriter in the world of entertainment and superficial lights.
I meditate and pray daily to stay calm, and remember that The Most High is fighting my battles for me.
Moth X, a Canadian-born artist, has meshed lyrical and visual storytelling by studying fashion design, working as a junior design intern at legendary punk designer Betsey Johnson, and writing for music producers Timbaland, Nelly Hooper, Justin Strauss, and Jaakko Maninen. Honing her craft as a songwriter, she collaborated with artists signed to Interscope, Universal, and Sony, which led her to begin directing music videos for independent acts and write short visual content for New Amsterdam Vodka at the Flow Music Festival in Finland.
An obsession with building Euroracks and creating modular synthesis opened the path for her to learn old-school techniques of beatmatching on vinyl, then moving to digital, using her skills as a DJ playing a techno party she created called ‘Chirren of the Night’ in warehouses near abandoned ships in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and downtown Miami.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Screenwriting for Film and Television from Los Angeles Film School with a 4.0, the popular loner and a definite vagabond, has always been ahead of her time. Traveling to Peru to do Ayahuasca, microdosing on shrooms, acid, MDMA, and partaking in Psilocybin and cacao ceremonies, before it was cool, she has tried everything but puff paint, ultimately discovering that nothing gets her higher than The Most High.
